One of the great features of AllTrails available to both AllTrails+ and free members is that you can save any map from a trail details page or from another member's profile. This allows you to customise the map by editing the route, adding additional routes, adding waypoints, and more. For more information on creating maps, click here. While this is only currently available via our website, once you save and customise your map on the website, it will automatically sync to your mobile app for you to use.
You can save a map from a trail by following these steps:
Via desktop or laptop computer:
- Log in to your account on https://www.alltrails.com
- Click on the trail card for the trail you want to save
- On the trail details page, select the image of the map to open the route.
- Select the pen in the bottom right corner to open the map creator.
- The route will be copied over as new custom map, where you can edit using our map creator tools

- The map will then be available in your 'Maps' section
- To access via the website, hover over 'Saved' and select 'Maps'
