AllTrails uses your location to enable features such as showing trails near you. Your privacy is important to us, and we won't share your location information unless you ask us to.
You can enable location permissions on common browsers by following these steps:
Google Chrome:
- While viewing the AllTrails website, locate the lock icon just to the left of the website URL in the browser header
- Click on the icon and select 'Site settings'
- Find 'Location' under the list of permissions and select ‘Allow’ from the drop down menu
- If required, update your system preferences to allow Chrome to use your location
- Refresh your browser and you should now have location permissions enabled

Safari:
- Open ‘Settings’ from the main Safari menu at the top left of the screen
- Navigate to ‘Websites’
- Then navigate to ‘Location’
- Next to alltrails.com you should see a dropdown menu to change the location permissions
- Select ‘Allow’
- Refresh your browser and you should now have location permissions enabled

Firefox:
- While viewing the AllTrails website, locate the location permissions icon in the header of the browser window, just to the left of the website URL
- Click on the icon to open the permissions options
- Clear the previous permissions labelled ‘Blocked’
- Refresh the page
- The next time you interact with a feature that requires location permissions, you should now see a new prompt asking you to ‘Block’ or ‘Allow’

Still having trouble?
If you're using Mac OS, you may need to update your system preferences to allow your web browser access to your location.
You may also benefit from updating your default member location in your AllTrails settings. This location is customisable and determines which trails you see on the Explore page. Click here for more information on adjusting your default member location.
