Following the acquisition of iFootpath, our collection of trails in the United Kingdom has doubled! This means now we’re able to give you access to the UK’s largest collection of detailed trail maps with descriptions, waypoints, photos, and reviews.
If you are not local to the UK, you may have some questions about terminology used on the trail pages, specifically in the descriptions of some of these trails. Below are some common terms you will see on the descriptions and waypoints found on these trail pages.

Stile A stile is a structure that allows people to cross over a farm fence using steps or ladders. These are usually found in rural areas along walking paths. Often times dogs will need to be lifted over these so trails that have stiles are not generally suitable for large dogs. |
Stile with dog gate In addition to the stile structure, occasionally farmers will include a sliding door for dogs to get through.
