Uploading files to AllTrails

As an AllTrails member, you have the ability to upload files to your activities, add a file to an existing map, or create a new map from a file. Our file size limit is 8MB, and file upload is only available on AllTrails.com, not in the apps.

Uploading a file to your Activities list:

  1. Log into your account
  2. Hover over your profile picture in the upper right corner and select 'Show profile'
  3. Select 'Activities' and click 'Upload activity’
  4. Click and drag your file into the box or click 'Browse files' to open your file manager and select your file
  5. Click 'Next' then add a title, star rating, or other attributes, as desired
  6. Click 'Upload activity' to finish

Uploading a file to a new custom map:

  1. Log into your account
  2. Hover over 'Saved' in the top header and select 'My maps'
  3. Click 'Create map' in the left panel
  4. Select 'Upload from file' and drag your file into the box or click 'Browse files' to open your file manager and select your file
  5. Click 'Next' to finish the upload
  6. You'll see a 'Route uploaded' pop-up to confirm your file was uploaded successfully

Upload your activity directly to a trail details page:

  1. Log into your account
  2. Click the trail card for which you want to add an activity
  3. Scroll down the page and click 'Activities' (in line with Reviews, Photos)
  4. Click 'Upload activities'
  5. Click and drag your file into the box or click 'Browse files' to open your file manager and select your file
  6. Click 'Next' then add a title, star rating, or other attributes, as desired
  7. Click 'Upload' to finish
