AllTrails is excited to release additional privacy settings, giving you greater control of the visibility of your content and who can see it. Adjusting these settings also allows you to control what type of content appears in your followers' feeds.
When you first create an AllTrails account, your default privacy settings will be set to public. You can adjust this any time by following these steps:
Via desktop or laptop computer:
- Log in to your account on https://www.alltrails.com
- At the top right of any page, hover over your profile image and in the drop-down select ‘Settings’
- Under 'Account Settings' in the right panel, click 'Privacy settings'
- You can choose your default privacy settings for your Community, Completed trails, Activities, Maps, and Lists
- Click 'Save' when you are finished
Via iPhone or Android app:
- Open the AllTrails app
- Tap on 'Profile' on the bottom navigation bar
- Tap the Settings icon () at the top right corner
- Select 'Privacy Settings'
- You can choose your default privacy settings for your Community, Completed trails, Activities, Maps, and Lists
- Tap 'Save' in the modal after you make an adjustment
NOTE: If you have had an account for a while, adjusting your default privacy settings will only set your preferred privacy level for new items added to your account after you adjust the settings. If you would like to apply your new default settings to all of your existing content, you can do this via our website — here's how.
You also have the ability to adjust the privacy settings for an individual activity, map, or list, without updating your default privacy settings. Click the hyperlinks below for information on how to adjust the privacy settings for each type of content:
