Trim community maps
When planning backpacking trips, I often find that a lot of forest service trails don't exist within alltrails. I can usually find them by browsing community content in the area I'm looking to hike because people hike them all the time.
What I'd like to be able to do when I go in to customize these maps is trim them to just change the start/end and only keep the segment I'm looking for.
I know that I can make my own route by manually drawing on a map, but I'd much rather use these since people walked on the actual trail and drawing with a mouse isn't going to be that accurate.
I've seen other topics about downloading the GPX files for multiple activities and combining them to make one, but I haven't been able to figure out how to use just a portion of an existing map without drawing it all again myself.

Hi there - thanks for your message! We'd recommend customizing the map you wish to use, or essentially copying the map to your own account. You can then make edits to the map. Here are some articles to help get you started:
