Unable to select file type when downloading gpx files in iPadOS

Preface: I am aware that the app itself does not support gpx downloads. It should, but that is not what this post is about.

Problem: When trying to download a route via a browser on iPadOS or in Safari on macOS, one cannot select the file type. As soon as one clicks the down arrow, the drop down closes. I tested this in iPadOS 15.7 using Safari, Firefox, and Chrome, as well as macOS 12.5.1. It works on the iPhone, which is surprising. This is a problem with the website.

Comment: If this is a lengthy fix (unlikely), perhaps you could set "GPX Route" to be the default option (as opposed to GPX Track"). The selection even says "Download Route". I'm guessing most people would want to download a route as opposed to a track because they are using it to upload to another device or app (such as a Garmin) in order to follow a route. I vote for doing whether the bug itself is fixed or not.
