creating and downloading maps to Iphone

I have created a custom map on my computer and saved it, but it does not show up on my saved maps on my iphone app. The help material I read says that this sync should have happened automatically.  I also tried the refresh suggestion given in the help material.

Any suggestions?

  Try adding the map as a favorite first.

  The app has a bug where sometimes you can't see them on the iPhone
