lock the app screen on mobile

I would like to make a suggestion concerning the All Trails App. It would be great to have the ability to lock the screen (on a mobile device) while the app is in use so that an accidental screen touch does not cause an unintentional action.

In the past when I carried my I-phone in my pocket, I found that while hiking an unintentional touch of the screen closed the All Trails app. So I switched to a dedicated phone case that is clipped onto my belt to prevent the problem. Also I have tried to exercise great care when putting my phone in the case. Unfortunately I still have had a couple of occasions where this problem has occurred. Today was one of those days. When I went to check my path vie the All Trails App while on the “Box Turtle and Red Toad Trail, I found that the app was accidentally paused when I began the hike. This is obvious when I compared “My activity August 25, 2021 ”, recorded from my Garmin watch that tracked 4.1 miles and the All Trails app that only recorded 2.6 miles.

If there was a command button on the All Trails app that lock the screen that would be extremely helpful. I believe having the command button at a different position from the pause button would be good too. Maybe when depressed it could display “Screen locked” or “Screen Unlocked”.
