Correlate elevation profile with location on map

When hiking, I can easily find myself on the route - my blue dot is (hopefully) near the red line of the route. I would love to also be able to see my blue dot on the elevation profile below. This would give me a better idea of how far I am into the hike, how much longer on this hill, etc.

I'm currently able to achieve this by carefully sliding my finger across the elevation profile, which does put a dot on the route. However, as you slide your finger across the profile, you will lose the dot if you touch the red profile itself. This can make it very tricky/slow to track down where you are. 

In summary, it would be fantastic if your blue dot appeared on the elevation profile. I realize that's tricky if you're not currently standing on the route. Secondly, it would be amazing if I could slide my finger across the elevation profile without "resetting" things if I accidentally touch the red profile line.

  I'd like to second this, but also put in a request to show the current elevation in the statistics at the bottom of the main route tracking screen.  Right now it is very easy to see current distance, vertical gain, time, etc. but very hard to find out the current elevation.   I would much prefer to see current elevation over something like calories.

  Add my vote to this, if AT support reads it. I hike a lot of challenging elevations, knowing where I am on it at a quick glance would be utterly fantastic. (I know this is a android forum, but I use the iPhone version and would like to see it there)
