How do I export a GPX file from AllTrails?

One of the great benefits of AllTrails Pro is that you can download GPX files from AllTrails.com using a desktop or laptop computer and use them on your own GPS device.

GPX files can be downloaded from AllTrails.com onto your computer from four different places:

  1. Directly from a Trail Page
  2. From one of your recorded tracks
  3. From another member's recorded track
  4. From one of the custom maps you've created

How to download a GPX file from a Trail Page:

  1. Log in to your AllTrails account using a desktop or laptop computer (downloading a GPX file doesn't work on mobile)
  2. Navigate to the page of the trail whose GPX coordinates you would like to download
  3. Hover over More (in the same row as Favorite/Directions/Print Map/etc) and click on Download GPX
  4. Depending on your browser, the file will either automatically be downloaded and saved to your computer (check your Downloads folder), or you will be prompted to save the file first

How to download a GPX file from one of your recorded tracks:

  1. Log in to your AllTrails account using a desktop or laptop computer
  2. In the header, hover over History and in the drop-down select Recordings (or click here)

  3. Click on the desired recording
  4. Click the blue Download GPX button
  5. Depending on your browser, the file will either automatically be downloaded and saved to your computer (check your Downloads folder), or you will be prompted to save the file first

How to download a GPX file from another member's recorded track:

  1. Log in to your AllTrails account using a desktop or laptop computer
  2. Navigate to the page of the trail whose GPX coordinates you would like to download
  3. Scroll down to Reviews/Photos/Tracks and click Recordings
  4. Find the track whose GPX coordinates you would like to download and click on the map image
  5. On the Recording Detail page, click the blue Download GPX button
  6. Depending on your browser, the file will either automatically be downloaded and saved to your computer (check your Downloads folder), or you will be prompted to save the file first

How to download a GPX file from a custom map you've created:

  1. Log in to your AllTrails account using a desktop or laptop computer
  2. At the top of any page, hover over Plan in the header and in the drop-down select Maps
