How do I download maps to my iPhone for offline use?

One of the great benefits of AllTrails Pro is that you can download maps to your phone for offline use. This allows you to view detailed map information and navigate using your phone's built-in GPS while you're out on the trail - even when you don't have a data signal!

Your downloaded maps are stored in and accessible through the AllTrails app.

Download maps from AllTrails.com:

Maps that you've created and saved on alltrails.com will automatically sync and show up on your Maps list in the app. A synced map is not the same as a downloaded map, and you must download a map to use it offline. To download a synced map do the following:

  1. Open the AllTrails app
  2. Tap on Plan on the bottom navigation bar
  3. Select Maps from the drop-down menu at the top of the screen

  4. Tap on the BLUE circle in the bottom right corner of the result card for the map that you'd like to download

  5. Pick the map layer(s) you want to download to your map by tapping on the the BLUE download arrow in the upper right-hand corner of each map layer (you can download multiple map layers to the same map)

  6. When the circle around a download arrow is GRAY, that means that map layer is queued to be downloaded; when the circle turns GREEN, your map download for that specific layer has completed

NOTE: if you select more than one map layer to download, your maps will download in the order that you selected; you must keep the app open for your downloads to complete otherwise the download process will restart when you re-open the app
