AllTrails members can customise AllTrails verified routes, as well as routes from other members' public activities. You can edit the route, add waypoints, and more. When you customise and save a route on our website, it will automatically sync to your mobile app for you to use.
Customise a verified route on AllTrails.com:
- Log into your account
- Open the map for the trail you’d like to customise
- Click the customise route button (the pencil icon) in the lower right
- When you’re finished customising the route, click 'Save'
- The route will then be available in your 'Custom routes & maps' section
- To access using the website, hover over 'Saved' and select 'Custom routes & maps'
- To access using the mobile app, tap 'Saved' > 'Lists' > 'Custom routes & maps'
Customise a route based on another member’s public activity on AllTrails.com:
- Log into your account
- Hover over ‘Explore’ in the upper-right corner and select 'Community'
- Type in the name of the member you want to search for in the search box under 'Connect', discover a local AllTrails member, or select a member you're already following from the 'Following' tab on the left, and click their name to open their profile
- Click 'Activities' from their profile page to view their recorded activities, or check out one of their Lists, then open the map of their route
- On the left panel of the screen, click the overflow button (3 dots) and select 'Customise map'
- The route will be copied over as a new custom route. To edit it, click the pencil icon ('Edit route') in the bottom toolbar.
- When you’re finished editing, click 'Save’
- The route will then be available in your 'Custom routes & maps' section
- To access using the website, hover over 'Saved' and select ‘Custom routes & maps’
- To access using the mobile app, tap 'Saved' > 'Lists' > 'Custom routes & maps'
Peak members can also customise verified routes and routes from other members’ public activities using the iOS and Android apps.
To customise a verified route in the mobile app:
- Open the map for the trail you’d like to customise
- Tap 'Customise' in the lower-right corner of the map
- When you’re finished customising the route, tap ‘Save’
- Find your new customised route under 'Saved' > 'Lists' > 'Custom routes & maps'
To customise a route based on another member’s public activity in the mobile app:
- Open another member’s profile
- Tap 'Activities' from their profile page to view their recorded activities, then open the map of their route
- Tap 'Customise' in the lower-right corner of the map
- When you’re finished customising the route, tap ‘Save’
- Find your new customised route under 'Saved' > 'Lists' > 'Custom routes & maps'
