Downloading files from AllTrails

AllTrails members can export activity files in multiple formats from the AllTrails website. You can also export files for verified routes and custom routes from either the website or the mobile app.

From one of your activities:

Via a desktop or laptop computer:

  1. Log into your account
  2. Hover over your profile icon at the top right and click 'Show profile'
  3. Click into the Activities tab
  4. Click into the activity you'd like to download
  5. Click the overflow menu (3 dots) just above the activity title
  6. Click 'Download route'
  7. Select your preferred file type from the dropdown, then click 'OK'

From one of your custom routes:

Via a desktop or laptop computer:

  1. Log into your account
  2. Hover over 'Saved' in the top header and select 'Custom routes & maps'
  3. Click into the map you'd like to download
  4. Click the overflow menu (3 dots) just above the map title
  5. Click 'Export route file'
  6. Select your preferred file type from the dropdown, then click 'Export'

Via iPhone or Android app:

  1. Tap 'Saved' in the bottom toolbar
  2. Under 'Lists', tap 'Custom routes & maps'
  3. Open the map you'd like to export
  4. Tap the overflow button (3 dots) in the top right corner
  5. Tap 'Export route file'
  6. Select your preferred option for exporting and tap 'Save'

From a trail page:

Via a desktop or laptop computer:

  1. Log into your account
  2. Open the trail page you'd like to download
  3. Click the green 'Hit the trail' button
  4. Click 'Export map file'
  5. Select your preferred file type from the dropdown, then click 'Export'

Via iPhone or Android app:

  1. Tap 'Explore' in the bottom toolbar
  2. Open any trail page 
  3. Tap the overflow button (3 dots) in the top right corner
  4. Tap 'Export route file'
  5. Select your preferred option for exporting and tap 'Save'
