As an AllTrails member, you can upload files to save to your activities or create a new custom route from a file. Our file size limit is 20 MB, and file upload is currently available on mobile or directly on our alltrails.com website.
Uploading a file to your Activities list (web only):
- Log in to your account
- Hover over your profile picture in the upper-right corner and select 'Show profile'
- Select 'Activities', then click the 'Map' button at the bottom of the screen
- In the bottom left, click 'Upload file'
- Click and drag your file into the box, or click 'Browse files' to open your file manager and select your file
- Click 'Next' then add a title, star rating, or other attributes, as desired
- Click 'Upload activity' to finish
Note: You need to have at least one recorded activity for the 'Upload file' button to appear.
Uploading a file as a new custom route (web and mobile):
Via a desktop or laptop computer:
- Log into your account
- Hover over 'Explore' in the top header and select 'Build custom route'
- Select 'Upload a route' and drag your file into the box, or click 'Browse files' to open your file manager and select your file
- Click 'Upload'
- You'll see a 'Route uploaded' pop-up to confirm your file was uploaded successfully
Via iPhone or Android app:
- Tap 'Saved' in the bottom toolbar
- Under the 'Lists' tab, tap 'Custom routes'
- Tap the overflow button (3 dots) in the top right corner
- Tap 'Upload route'
- You'll see your uploaded route appear in your Custom routes folder
