Thank you for contributing a trail to AllTrails! Any suggested trail additions must first be evaluated by our moderators. This process may take a few days to a few months, depending on our ability to verify the information. We aim to review all submitted trails based on these targets: Peak submissions within 5 business days and Plus submissions within 10 business days. Base submissions will be reviewed as best we can as time permits.
Please note that seasonal changes, natural disasters, and holidays may delay the timeline for trail approvals.
Keep in mind that for a faster approval time, please include information such as:
- Trail name
- Photos
- Detailed trail description (the more details the better!)
- Multiple tags
In addition, if you want to have access to a new trail instantaneously, you can create a custom map. Custom maps don't require moderator approval and can be shared with anyone right away. This article has more information on sharing your maps.
How do I know if my trail was approved?
If you submit a new trail on AllTrails and it's approved, you'll be able to search for the trail by name on AllTrails.com or within the 'Explore' tab. The submitter will receive an email confirmation if this trail is approved. Once a trail has been approved and added, it will be discoverable by all AllTrails members.
Please note that our trail moderation team will occasionally make edits to the proposed trail name upon approval.
