We recently announced several AllTrails membership updates inspired by valuable feedback from our community. Below is a summary of what’s changing, why we made these updates, and what they mean for you.
What's changing
- Custom Routes on desktop is now available to all members for free. This feature will replace our legacy map builder in April 2026, so people can continue to have access to high-quality desktop route planning. We’re also improving Custom Routes with waypoints and shareable trail pages, launching in November.
- Trail Conditions is now included in Plus membership, providing weather, daylight, and more on every trail. Trail Conditions will get even better soon, with new detailed ground conditions information coming in late November.
What this means for Peak members
Because this changes what features are Peak-only now, we’re extending all current Peak memberships for an additional three months for free. Peak members will still have access to every feature we offer, including in-app Custom Routes and Outdoor Lens. This extension will be made automatically by the end of November; no action is needed. This change will be reflected in your profile.
You'll qualify for this extension if:
- You started a Peak membership or free trial before 11:59 pm PT, November 10, 2025
- Your billing information is up to date
Note: A Peak free trial needs to convert into a full subscription before it can receive the extension.
Why we're making these changes
We heard from our community that we made some mistakes when we rolled out our new Peak membership earlier this year. Retiring Advanced Conditions and our desktop map builder meant people lost access to functionality they cared about. These changes restore that access and reflect our commitment to delivering a great experience for all AllTrails members.
FAQs
When are these membership changes effective?
The updates will be rolled out this month. Trail Conditions will be available to Plus members by the end of November. Custom Routes are already free for everyone on desktop, and Peak membership extensions are being applied automatically.
