With our new national park stamps feature, you can visually track your progress with visiting US national parks in the AllTrails app.
When you visit one of the 63 US national parks, the corresponding park stamp will automatically register on your AllTrails account. They'll appear in the app in full color, while the parks you haven't yet visited will be grayed out.
There are two ways you can earn a national park stamp:
- Open AllTrails while in the park: When you're at a national park and open the app, you may see a 'Welcome to the park' message in the app. That visit will earn you that park's stamp.
- Record an activity with Navigate: Start Navigate, record your activity within the park, then save it. After your activity syncs, AllTrails can award the stamp for that park.
What counts?
- Visits to US national parks included in the stampbook (63 total parks)
- Activities recorded with Navigate that are associated with that park
- Eligible past park visits on your account (stamps may already be waiting for you from earlier trips!)
What doesn't earn a stamp?
- Visiting a park without using AllTrails (the app needs to detect or record your visit)
- Parks that aren't part of the US national park stamp collection (for example, state parks and national monuments aren't yet included in the stampbook)
Note: If you recorded an activity within a national park while offline, your stamp may appear after you're back online and your activity has synced.
Where do you find your stamps?
Stamps live within the Park stamps module in the Activity tab in the AllTrails mobile app:
- Tap 'Activity' on the bottom navigation bar
- Tap the Parks stamps module at top right (next to your stats)
- Earned stamps are in full color, while unearned stamps are grayed out
How do you share your stampbook progress?
From your stampbook, tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen to create a shareable image of your progress, including how many parks you've visited and a look at your collection. You can send it through your phone's usual share options, like Messages or Instagram Stories.
Will my past park visits count?
Yes! If you've previously recorded an activity in a US national park on AllTrails, that visit should have already given you the corresponding stamp. Open your stampbook to see which parks you've already earned.
Does uploading a file or marking a trail as completed count?
To earn a stamp, the AllTrails app needs to register your physical presence within the park. Uploading an activity file from another device or manually marking a trail as completed will not earn a stamp.
Can I see my stamps on the AllTrails website?
For now, your national park stampbook can only be accessed from the AllTrails app.
What if I'm offline when I visit a park?
If you can, record your activity with Navigate while you're there. When you're back online and your activity syncs, your stamp should then appear in your stampbook.
I've definitely been to a national park while using AllTrails -- why is its stamp still showing as grayed out?
