Challenges are goals that members can complete in the AllTrails app. Each challenge has its own goal, timeframe, eligibility requirements, activity requirements, and any rewards or benefits.
What are challenges?
Challenges encourage members to complete a specific goal through activities recorded or connected to AllTrails.
Some challenges may repeat monthly, while others use custom timeframes. Review the challenge details for the information that applies to you.
How do I find and join a challenge?
- Open the AllTrails app.
- Find the challenge in the For You or Activity tab, or wherever it is featured in the app.
- Tap Join challenge.
- Open the challenge details to review the goal and requirements.
Some challenges require you to join before an activity can count. The challenge details explain whether eligible activities completed before joining can be applied to your progress.
What do I need to know before participating?
Review the challenge details for:
- Eligibility requirements
- The challenge timeframe
- Which activities count
- Any minimum moving time or distance requirements
- Any deadline for saving activities
- Rewards, benefit, or terms and conditions
Any requirements may include activities recorded, synced, imported into your AllTrails account. Joining your activity does not change your privacy settings.
How do I check my progress?
When a challenge includes progress tracking, your progress appears in the challenge module in the Activity tab and on the challenge details page.
Progress updates after an eligible activity is saved or synced to your AllTrails account. The challenge details show how progress is counted and when it updates.
What happens when I complete a challenge?
The challenge details explain what happens when you complete the goal, including any reward, benefit, donation, or other terms that apply.
The challenge details show how progress is counted and when it updates.
Why is my activity not counting?
First, confirm that:
- You joined the challenge, if joining is required.
- The activity was saved, synced, or imported to your AllTrails account.
- The activity was completed during the challenge timeframe.
- The activity meets the challenge requirements for moving time, distance, or any other criteria.
- The activity was not excluded by the challenge rules.
If the activity still is not showing, contact AllTrails support and include the email address on your account, the challenge name, the date and source of the activity, and a screenshot of your challenge progress and activity details.
