All AllTrails members can edit routes they've created on AllTrails.com. Peak members can also edit their routes using the mobile app.
Editing a custom route on AllTrails.com
To make changes to a route you've created, follow these steps on the website:
- Hover over 'Saved' in the header and select 'Custom routes & maps'
- Select the route you'd like to edit
- Click the pencil icon ('Edit route') in the bottom toolbar

To make changes to a route you've created, follow these steps in the mobile app:
- Tap 'Saved', then 'Lists', then 'Custom routes & maps'
- Select the route you'd like to edit
- Tap the overflow menu (three dots), then tap 'Edit route'. You can also open the map of the route, then tap 'Edit route'.
Editing tips
Editing a section of a route
- Open the route you'd like to edit
- Click the pencil icon ('Edit route') in the bottom toolbar
- In the panel on the left, click the segment you want to edit
- Click anywhere along the route to add a point, or click anywhere on the map to add to the route.
- Click and drag any point to alter your route. The route will snap to OpenStreetMap paths and roads shown on the map.
Adding points
- Open the route you'd like to edit
- Click the pencil icon ('Edit route') in the bottom toolbar
- In the panel on the left, click the segment you want to edit
- Add points anywhere along your route by clicking along the route line
Editing an endpoint
- Open the route you'd like to edit
- Click the pencil icon ('Edit route') in the bottom toolbar
- In the panel on the left, click the segment you want to edit
- Click and drag the black endpoint (or half green/half black if start/endpoint are the same) to your desired location
Editing the custom route name
- Open the route you'd like to edit
- Click the pencil icon ('Edit route') in the bottom toolbar
- In the panel on the left, click the custom route name
- Update the name in the Title field
- Click the Done button
